My step-father-in-law made the best baked mac n cheese.. he only used cheese, macaroni, butter, and a little flour, one of those "use a little of this and a little of that" recipes.... sorry, wish I could help you...lol.

Here is my recipe for mac n cheese.
1 1/2 c. macaroni
1 egg
2 Tbsp. margarine
2 c. sharp cheddar cheese
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 c. milk
Pam
Boil macaroni in salted water until tender. Drain. Place macaroni in a 1 1/2 quart casserole that has been sprayed with Pam.
Add butter, pepper, egg, milk and 1 1/4 c. of cheese. Stir together. Add remaining cheese on top. Bake at 350 to 400 for 30 minutes.

Peanut's is the one closest to how I make it. I don't measure anything.

I wanted to make this, but our oven's temp has decided to go to oven heaven, lol.... so we will have to do something else.
I am doing scalloped potatoes tonight in the crock pot; they're smelling pretty good. We're gonna warm up the picnic ham, and have some bread and butter to go with it.

The scalloped potatoes turned out great! Now, we can have them in the summer and not have to heat up the oven.

Scalloped potatoes do really well in the crockpot. I know you enjoyed them!!!
Boopie, Paula Deen has a great crockpot mac and cheese recipe. I believe it's on the Food Network site.

The kids said my mac and cheese on Sunday was the best I've ever made. One of the boys' girlfriends (who is a vegetarian) ate 2 heaping platefuls. I guess it was a success.
This time I used penne pasta. It worked great.

Question; what type of meat would you serve with M&C?

We like salmon, turkey, ham, and meatloaf with mac and cheese. Although I bet my kids wouldn't complain about anything with mac and cheese.
