brutus found some filets on sale; and we're having those tonight, marinated in hickory smoke allegro, baked potatoes with sour cream & butter, and yeast bread.

A couple more beers and he'll be outside cooking 'em on the grill! emo-1376447646164beer1.gif

I'll be there soon. emo-1628640auto11.gif It sounds better than my beef stew with rice and sliced tomatoes.
boopie
That sounds good TB; although I'm not a big fan of white rice. I'd rather have mashed potatoes. Did you make the beef stew? I have a recipe posted that I want to try; it looks delish.
Trailblazer
My wife made it this time but we make it the same way. I will have to look at your recipe.

I haven't made that recipe yet, but I'm going to. If you try it, please let us know how it turns out TB.

Tell the wife me and brutus says "Hey"! emo-480882hi2.gif

Tonight we're having boneless porkchops, fried... and just some french bread with butter. (real healthy, lol)

What's everyone else having?
boopie
brutus has large lima beans soaking; we're having lima beans with ham (I think it's ham chunks; might be bacon), and corn bread.

I love beans seasoned with ham. Just don't back up too close to the fireplace after you eat them. emo-2260158lmao.gif

The beans are in the crockpot, along with country ham chunks; I was just informed. emo-14306242329132.gif

Tonight is leftovers; oh man, were those lima beans delish with the country ham! That, btw, is what we're having tonight... along with some bread and butter.

1/4 pounder is what brutus and I usually get.

I used to get the fish filet w/o the cheese. However, I found that Burger King has a delicious fish fillet; I love 'em!

Yes to both but not too spicy. I can only find it at Wal-mart or Publix.

Tonight we're having french dip sandwiches with aujour (sp) dip. Yum!!

We did hot dogs, tater tots and baked beans. The kids like them (the dogs) cooked in butter. Nothing like making a hot dog even more unhealthy to eat. emo-479774roflmao.gif

Pesto sauce, mozz cheese (the real stuff, thich and creamy chewy) some chopped tomatoes, onions, on focacia (sp) bread. It is well worth it. And, if you haven't tried the quesadilla burger, yummy!!!... another fantastic burger.

Today I tried the baconator from Wendy's. It's a double cheeseburger with bacon, not a big deal for the money. I will stick with the 99 cent menu and get the junior bacon cheeseburger next time.
Brutus
Tonight with the left-over beef roast we are having home made soup!

The best burger at McD's is the Big and Tasty.

I don't know what we will be having. I need to go to the grocery store today. This week will be a hard week to cook since we have dr's appointments 4 afternoons this week, two basketball games and tumbling! UGH!! I hate cooking anyway. My boyfriend will be out of town all week and I hate cooking for just the kids. I can never please everybody!!

Went to Raising Cane, I like there fingers better than Zaxby's. I told the girl there that I was raised on a farm and never saw a chicken with fingers. I thought she was goig to hurt herself laughing so hard.

Cheese, tomatos and onions, more like a picante sauce, not spicy at all, and grilled in between tortilla shells.

Foccacia bread is thick and heavy, but very good, and very tasty.

hey peanut! What's on that hamburg?

Cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup and mayo...but it is fresh.

I love the oriental chicken roll up at Applebees.
Brutus
I had to fix the oven but it will be worth it! Tonight is Shrimp (Broiled, boiled, scampi and basil and lemon) and French Fries deep fried.

Oh Yea! I made a Banana Cream Pie also for dessert.

(Every year a couple of friends and I go down to the coast and buy shrimp and have them de-headed.)

I don't think my taste buds would like it; I'm not a mayo, lettuce, ketchup person on a hamburg. Probably not my best choice, but if someone likes that stuff, it does sound good, especially when you say it's fresh.

Don't you just love that flat iron steak? I discovered it several years when Kroger first put it out and we eat it on a regular basis. It makes the best steak sandwiches. In fact that's what we had Monday night - flat iron steak sandwiches on sweet italian rolls with sauteed onions/mushrooms and hashbrowns.

How do you cook the flat iron for this, agrit? Sounds good!
agrit
in order of preference: grill, skillet, and george foreman grill.

the other night, I put it in a skillet with a little EVOO and "sauteed" it til almost done, then I put in the onions and mushrooms til caramelized. The sweet italian rolls, I get from Kroger and simply split them and toast them lightly.

I always use either salt, coarse ground pepper and garlic salt to season or I'll use Kroger's grill seasoning.

I cook it med (that way I can get the pink to done on the ends and the kids can get the rarer parts in the middle) and slice it thin.

So, it gets tender from doing it in the skillet? Do you then cut strips of meat for the sandwiches?

Sounds good!
Brutus
Deep Fried Shrimp, French Fries, and Hush Puppies, and Boopie has a batter that I just love!

3 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Salt & pepper

Combine shrimp, salt & pepper.

In another bowl, combine eggs, flour and baking powder

Drege shrimp in egg mixture and fry.

Sounds great Brutus. Yesterday I put on a big pot of beef stew and it cooked all day. Man, it was good last night.
boopie
Yum, will you post your recipe for the beef stew in the recipe section, agrit? I haven't made homemade beef stew in forever!

I'm gonna put on a pot of chili for supper here in a little while.

I had Wendy's chili and a Frosty.

I love Wendy's chili! For lunch, maybe twice a week, I will have a large chili and a baked potato with cheese & bacon.... YUM!

I made chili yesterday. I didn't have time to cook today. I worked too late. I hate to cook, but feel guilty when I have to tell the kids when they ask, "what's for supper?' and it's "Whatever you can find."

I can understand peanut; it was hard when I was divorced and did everything. It's a reward to know you can do it, but, man is it a hard road to travel.

I made homemade hamburgers and french fries. I just ate a patty and 5 fries and 2 little dill pickles.

The boys enjoyed it!

It's really getting tough lately. I am glad that I am getting busier with my business, but most of it takes place in the afternoons or on weekends. I have to schedule everything around everything else I have going on with the kids. I am going to have to start using the crock pot more. Anybody have some good recipes for the crock pot?

Yes, I did put one in for scalloped potatoes; they are better than in the oven, peanut.

I'll set up a spot just for crockpot recipes; I have alot of them.
agrit
Ball season has started so we'll be doing a lot of slow cooked meals. But I put my spaghetti sauce in the crockpot yesterday and then went home between work and the game and turned it off. When we got home, I just had to fix the pasta and bread. So, to make a long story short, for supper last night we had spaghetti and garlic bread.
boopie
Sounds good agrit; I made homemade spaghetti sauce on the stove Saturday; it wa delish! We froze the remains for another day. :)

Last night, brutus made a fantastic baked steak using chuck steak. He wanted to make steaks in the skillet, but I guess me asking for baked steak and mashed potatoes, I sorta got my way, lol

He should've known he could've made it any way he wanted!

But, oh man, it was delicious! I think I could make money panning him out to single women to make their dinners -- shoot, one different household once a week, 5 times a week... we'd be rich! LOL
