Augusta, GA---A scheduled bond hearing for 22-year old Jeanette Hawes is canceled. News 12 has family reaction. "It got to get better for me," says Janice Hawes, a 46 year old mother of 9. One of Janice's children, Jeanette Hawes, is now in jail charged with murdering her two children...Jordan and Shakayla.

"I know God won't put no more on me than I can bear. Sometimes God allows you to go through things for a reason. I don't understand it but God will show me by and by what he's trying to say," says Janice Hawes.

Janice's daughter was scheduled to go before a judge Wednesday for a bond hearing. The public defenders office canceled that hearing. Meanwhile, News 12 is learning more about Jeanette's mental condition. Janice says, "She thinks I got the kids...cause she saying I got to get home to my mom house because my mom got my kids."

Jeanette Hawes is being kept at the Law Enforcement Center in a medical portion of the jail with about 15 or 20 other women under constant supervision. Her mother says that's where she should stay.

"You know I want my daughter home, but I feel like she's not in her right mind right now. I know that's my daughter...I lover her...and her sisters and brothers love her."

Janice says it is that tough love that allows a mother to feel comfortable with the thought of her daughter sitting behind bars. "I just feel right now that she should get the psychological help that she need and the treatment before she come home."

Augusta, GA---News 12 has a look at how Jeannette Hawes spends her day in jail and audio of Hawes just days before the crime. Jeanette Hawes is being kept in a medical section of the jail at the Richmond County Law Enforcement Center, and her mother says that's the best place for her at this time.

The family had expected to see Jeanette at a bond hearing Wednesday. That was canceled. News 12 has learned Jeanette is being kept with 15 to 20 other women. She is allowed out in the common area between 5 A.M. And 11:30 P.M.

She is then locked away alone under constant supervision. Jeanette has been in jail close to a month now. News 12 has obtained audio of a sad and concerned Jeanette Hawes shortly after losing her job back in late October.

She says all she wants is peace of mind. "All I want is to be free, and just have a peaceful mind...you know it's nothing like a peaceful mind and that's what I want for once in life. That's what I pray to God for. That's what I want peace... and love... and kindness."

A family friend tells News 12 lawyers would like to see an arraignment hearing first.
